Buy Tilton Apricot Trees for sale at Advanced Nursery Growers in DeFuniak Springs, Florida.

Tilton Apricot is a classic, productive apricot variety valued for its flavorful golden fruit and excellent versatility in the kitchen. The medium to large fruit develops golden-yellow skin, often with an attractive reddish blush, and firm, rich, sweet-tart flesh.

Tilton is especially well known as an apricot for canning and preserving, but the fruit is also delicious eaten fresh, dried, frozen, or made into jams and preserves. When fully ripe, the fruit is generally freestone, making it convenient for processing.

Tilton Apricot is self-fruitful, so only one tree is needed to produce fruit. However, favorable weather during bloom is important for good fruit set.

North Florida Growing Note: Tilton requires approximately 600 chill hours. Although the tree is hardy in Zone 8b, its chilling requirement and the challenges of growing apricots in the humid Southeast can make fruit production inconsistent in the Florida Panhandle. We recommend Tilton for gardeners who would like to experiment with apricots and have a cooler planting location. It should not be considered one of our most reliable fruit trees for North Florida.

Choose a sunny, well-drained location with good air circulation. Avoid low areas where water collects or where late frosts tend to settle.
